We had a lot of possesion during the game but in the end it amounted to very little. The game was all about the battle in midfield and many times we lost it. Santos managed to steal the ball away many times, and once blatantly showed our error.
The first goal didn’t come until 5 mins after play had resumed for the second half. Ludueña managed to score a goal into the very top left corner off a free kick. Michel made a good attempt in trying to stop it but the ball had too much pace and slipped past his grasp.
In the 59th min Alberto Medina got himself in trouble as he gave Osmar Mares a little love tap on the back in the head. For his late Valentine’s day gift he received a yellow card, his second of the season.
Right away in the 60th min, Aaron Galindo lost the ball in midfield to El Tri team mate, Matias Vuoso who shot it up front to Ludueña and Darwin who were waiting to take advantage of the one man defense. Reynoso slipped as the pair made their way through and Michel managed to stop Ludueña’s shot but it landed in front of Darwin who headed it home. We were down 2-0.
It wasn’t until the 89th min that we scored. Chicharito Hernandez managed to get his right foot on the ball to score from a corner from Pineda. It wasn’t enough and we lost our perfect record for this season.
Carlos Ochoa also fractured a finger during the game, but he will not miss any playing time and will be available for the game on Wednesday against Toluca at home.
In other news, Omar Bravo might be returning back to Mexico. He’s not having playing time at Deportivo and it is a possibility. His destination? Most likely Cruz Azul. If some other team wants him they’d have to first negotiate with Cruz Azul. Why? It’s all part of the “gentlemen agreement” system in Mexico. Since we have Aaron Galindo formally from Cruz Azul they have first dibs on any of our current or former players.
