It was hot, hot, hot

I think that we can all agree that this was not the best week for Chivas. A week like this may continue for a couple more days. At least, schedule wise. While tonight’s game against Jaguares didn’t fare too well, let’s hope that this week we have another goal smashing success.
Jaguares
23 Édgar Hernández
4 Javier Gandolfi
5 OMar Flores
6 André Moreira
7 Oscar Razo
11 Danilo Verón
13 Alan Zamora
15 Gerardo Flores
18 Itamar Batista (Adolfo Bautista 54′)
24 Oribe Peralta
29 Neri Cardozo
DT Miguel A. Brindisi
Guadalajara
1 Luis MIchel
17 Amaury Ponce (Sergio Ávila 52′)
3 Aarón Galindo
19 Jonny Magallón
20 Édgar Mejía
16 Édgar Solís (Javier Hernández 52′)
11 Ramón Morales
7 Gonzalo Pineda
18 Xavier Báez
10 Alberto Medina
9 Omar Arellano (Patricio Araujo 67′)
DT Efraín Flores
We didn’t start out well. Jaguares had us right away when they started to attack right at the blow of the whistle. They had two very good shots within the first 15 mins. Michel made good saves, the first by tipping the ball over the bar in the 11th minute and the second by stopping it with the tip of his left foot in the 14th.
Chivas didn’t have a decent chance until the 24th minute when Tepa Solis and Venado Medina linked up. Medina shot the ball but Gandolfi was able to stop it.
In the 39th the Brazilian one name guy, Danilinho, scored. The defense on that play was horrible and they were tripping all over the place. As much as I don’t really rate Reynoso, I don’t think Aaron Galindo has much control over the defense either. We could have done well with the mistake prone defender during that time. He’s out because of something that happened in training. I think it was a concussion and they were weary of letting him play.
So then in the 64th minute Bofo Bautista scored his second career goal with Jaguares against Chivas. He didn’t celebrate out of respect, but I think it would have been more kind if he just hadn’t scored.
Not too much happened afterwords which at this point doesn’t really matter anymore. We were 2-0 down and everyone looked tired. The temperature down in Chiapas is supposed to be tremendous and at the game it was over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. It was a little hot. Even Efrain Flores who wasn’t running around went for a casual shirt look instead of his usual sports jacket.
Also, I think that Efrain Flores left Omar Arellano in a little too long. The kid’s been out for a while and he plays 67 minutes of this game? It’s a bit much.
Next, we have Caracas at home for revenge on March 11th. During the weekend we have ‘El Classico Tapatio” against Atlas of course. They’re going down.
