Borgetti First On the Chopping Block, More to Come
By: Andrea | May 15th, 2009
It’s official. Jared Borgetti is no longer a Chivas player.
It comes as a surprise that he was actually a Chivas player since he never was really on the pitch.
Borgetti was the first one to go during the cleansing of the team that is currently under way. He only had a 6 month contract, and it wasn’t renewed.
Vergara and Co. are evaluating who will stay, and who will go, although there has been a strong inclination towards letting go of the new players who primarily stayed on the bench(Borgetti, Ochoa, Mendoza).
“At this moment, there is no new news. Possible movements are up for talks with Pedro Saez, Jorge Vergara, and with the rest of the managerial team. Of course we’ve had several talks, but at the moment there isn’t anything official until we analyze each individual player to figure out their stance for the next season, and what the team will achieve,” said Varela.
Meanwhile, Omar Bravo visited the Chivas institution and brought up rumors of him coming back.
Tigres has until May 25 to decide if they want to buy Bravo, but it doesn’t seem like they’re too keen on this option. Deportivo is waiting to see what will happen, but apparently Lotina isn’t that excited to have him back either.
Now after moving away, Bravo wants to come back no matter what the financial circumstances.
Paco Ramirez has asked for reinforcements, and if Bravo is not available for sale, expect a loan deal to be worked out.
