Ramon Morales is gone
By: Andrea |
Morales arrived in 1999 and left on shoved out the door by Jorge Vergara January 7, 2010. What player lasts that long with a team? Very few, and those that do are considered legends at their club.
Paolo Maldini. Raul. Ramon Morales. Though Ramoncito may not have the world wide recognition, he’s up there with those greats. Read the rest of this entry »
Bofo returns, Morales possibly out
By: Andrea |
Adolfo ‘Bofo’ Bautista returned to Chivas. He has a three year contract and he will have a mini preseason to catch up his fitness to other teammates’ lose the extra kilos.
‘Bofo’ returns from Jaguares where he had many problems.
The transfer list was also given out with Ramon Morales available. According to Lebrija Chivas USA is interested in a possible transfer. Sergio Amaury Ponce and Gonzalo Pineda are on there as well. Last time Pineda was under scrutiny to he fought his way to stay. Diego Martinez, on loan to Monterrey, is also on there with his situation to be resolved. Antonio Olvera will extend his loan but will move from Toluca to Santos. Francisco Mendoza is another loan possibility back to Chivas USA.
So personally I’m not happy about Bofo. I think it’ll be another Bravo situation where he’ll contribute very little. He was lazy before and he’ll surely consider along the same path.
What do you think of this Bofo situation?
Chivas has an (old)new manager…again

Chivas has a new manager…kinda. Jose Luis Real will be the manager for the Clausura 2009. It was announced on the official website, and his official presentation as manager will take place on Tuesday.
He’s also expected to be at the helm for the Copa Libertadores in 2010 where Chivas will enter in at the round of 16. If you remember, they were withdrawn from the tournament due to concerns of the H1N1 fear, especially concerning playing in venues in Mexico.
Real was manager of the team in the Apertura 2009 with a 1-1-1 record. Previous to that he managed the youth teams.
Good luck Real. You’ve entered into a crazy atmosphere. Hopefully, you don’t become another manager tagged under staff- I’ve used that tag too many times for countless managers.
Failures cast in cement

That’s it.
The season is over. Chivas had the opportunity to move on but wasted opportunities, not just today but the whole season, and that’s why no more games will be played.
Francisco Ramirez didn’t work out. Raul Arias didn’t work out. Omar Bravo didn’t work out.
That’s why Chivas isn’t in the Liguilla and America is. Read the rest of this entry »

They sure did a lot of staring…into the back of their own nets.
Who missed the first goal? I did.
I was barely settling down when the second was scored.
Finally, a Chivas team that plays like what a Chivas team is supposed to play like. Read the rest of this entry »
Arias Fired
By: Andrea |According to several media outlets Arias has been dismissed as Chivas manager.
He’s been fired with three games to go in the Apertura 2009. Arias is the second manager fired this tournament. Chivas won three games, lost three and drew one.
The administration hasn’t said anything yet.
Jose Luis Real is rumored to be the interim manager for the last games.
Keep watching as the drama unfolds.
Post Halloween Chivas Were Still Impersonating A Different Team

Chivas lost. Again. Is anyone surprised? Even the slightest bit?
Yeah, me either.
I’m not even sure what happened here. Everything was going along well(as much as that word can mean for Chivas at the moment) and then BAM! 1-1, 2-1, 3-1.
There were some wacky moments but they don’t really justify what went on. Read the rest of this entry »
Black Sunday

Well…that didn’t go too well.
Chivas lost. Yes, lost. And against America which makes it even worse.
However, in this mediocre league that takes place in Mexico there is some good news.
Good news when Chivas lost against America, the most hated rival? How can that be? Read the rest of this entry »

Tragedy Hits the Chivas Family
By: Andrea |
Rest in peace, Doctor Ricardo Herrera.
In the early hours of the morning the Chivas U-17 bus was struck by a cargo truck. Dr. Ricardo Herrera died at the scene due to a traumatic brain injury.
Two players were injured, as well as the physical trainer and the manager.
Oscar Torres and Cesar Vasquez received facial injuries. Corazein Pardo was injured as well. As of now, it seems like manager Manuel Martinez received the most serious injuries, suffering from a lower brain stem injury. He has gone through surgery, and according to Jorge Vergara is expected to be fine. Those four in the most critical condition are reported to be stable now at the hospital.
The driver disappeared from the scene, and his whereabouts are unknown.
The team was coming back from a 2-3 win at Torreon, and the U-20 bus was following close by and witnessed the accident as well.
Games are subject to change for the lower division teams, although that decision will be made later when the conditions of the players are better accounted for.
As for now, rest in peace Ricardo Herrera.
